IT Problems Cost More Than You Think

For a small business without dedicated IT support, technology problems are a constant background drain. A laptop that won't connect to the printer. Software that won't update. A new starter who can't get access to the systems they need. An email that stops working on a Friday afternoon.

These issues might seem minor individually. But added up across a year — the time spent troubleshooting, the productivity lost while waiting for things to get fixed, the stress of not knowing who to call — they represent a significant hidden cost for most small businesses.

📊 Small businesses without IT support spend an average of 23 hours per year troubleshooting technology problems. At even a modest hourly rate, that's a substantial cost — before lost revenue from downtime is counted.

Having a reliable IT support partner changes that equation completely. Problems get resolved quickly by someone who knows your setup. New starters are onboarded smoothly. Software stays up to date. And you have a single point of contact for anything technology-related — rather than Googling it yourself at 9pm.

How It Works

  1. Free IT Review

We start with a free call to understand your business, your current technology setup, and your main pain points. No obligation — just an honest conversation about what you have, what's causing problems, and what good IT support would look like for a business of your size.

  2. IT Audit

For businesses that proceed to a retainer, we carry out an IT audit — documenting your devices, software, accounts, licences, and current security posture. This gives us a clear picture of your setup so we can support you effectively from day one.

  3. Onboarding & Quick Wins

We address any immediate issues identified during the audit and get your support processes set up — how to reach us, response time expectations, and what's covered under your retainer.

  4. Ongoing Support

From this point, we're your IT support team. Issues get logged and resolved, new starters get set up, and you have a single point of contact for anything technology-related. We also proactively flag anything we spot that needs attention — rather than waiting for things to break.

  5. Monthly Check-In

A brief monthly call or report covering what's been resolved, anything coming up that needs attention, and any recommendations to improve your IT setup. No surprises, no hidden work.

Pricing

We offer both one-off support for specific projects and monthly retainers for businesses that want an ongoing IT partner. All retainers are quoted based on the number of users and the level of support required.

Who This Service Is For

Managed IT support is most valuable for small businesses that don't have — and don't need — a full-time IT person, but are spending more time than they should dealing with technology problems. This fits most businesses in the 1–20 employee range, particularly:

🔗 IT support and cybersecurity work best together. Many of our managed IT clients also benefit from our Cybersecurity & Compliance service — combining day-to-day IT support with a stronger security posture. Ask us about combined packages.

Stop letting IT problems eat your time

Book a free IT review. We'll take a look at your current setup, identify what's causing you the most pain, and tell you honestly what a support retainer would cost and whether it would be worth it for your business.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly do you respond to IT support requests?
Response times depend on your support package. Our Essential Retainer includes a 4-business-hour response time for standard issues. The Business Retainer includes a 2-hour response time. Business-critical issues — where your team is unable to work — are prioritised regardless of tier. All response time SLAs are confirmed in writing before your retainer begins.
Do you provide on-site IT support or only remote?
The majority of IT issues can be resolved remotely, which is faster and more cost-effective for everyone. Where an on-site visit is genuinely required — hardware installation, infrastructure work, or issues that can't be resolved remotely — we can arrange this for businesses in and around Staffordshire. Travel costs are confirmed in advance, with no surprise charges.
What if we already have some IT in place — can you work with it?
Yes. We work with whatever you have in place — Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, a mix of Windows and Mac devices, or systems that have evolved organically over years. We'll assess your current setup during onboarding and work with it rather than insisting you replace everything.
Is there a minimum contract length for retainers?
Our retainers are on a rolling monthly basis with one month's notice to cancel. We don't lock clients into long-term contracts — we'd rather earn your business month to month by being genuinely useful than tie you in regardless of whether the service is working for you.
What's not included in managed IT support?
Our managed IT support covers the day-to-day IT needs of a small business. It doesn't include major infrastructure projects (which are scoped and quoted separately), advanced cybersecurity work (covered under our dedicated cybersecurity service), or software development. If a request falls outside your retainer scope, we'll always tell you before doing any work.
Can you help us move from one system to another — like switching to Microsoft 365?
Yes. Platform migrations — moving email, files, and users from one system to another — are a common one-off project we handle before or alongside a retainer. We'll scope the migration separately, give you a fixed price, and make sure the transition causes as little disruption to your business as possible.
